Vocational Opportunities of Cherokee, North Carolina

A community based rehabilitation program, dedicated to serving persons with challenges that reduce or inhibit employment and/or social/community inclusion.

About our Organization…

VOC was established in 1973 to provide vocational rehabilitation services to all members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. In 1985, services were extended to all people in Jackson and Swain counties. In 2000, services were expanded to provide work opportunities to adults with barriers to employment. VOC is a private, NC non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors and is an entity of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

VOC believes that persons served should always be treated with dignity and respect while having culturally enhanced opportunities as they become self-sufficient individuals at home and within their community. VOC offers employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment through meaningful work while empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
